I want to build a a capsule wardrobe with 7-10 pieces, but I get lost figuring out what will work for my petite, 5 ft tall frame. I do not have easy access to try on Tibi pieces in real life, so what tips do you have to figuring out what works for short frames?
I am absolutely Tibi obsessed. Do you have any tips for petites regarding the long rise in most of the pants. Im 5ft 1 but dont like low slung at the hips. I have a bit of a pooch so the intended fit isnt flattering but when i pull winslows or sid up to my waist i think they look strange on me
Try this. I work with so many petite customers, and often it is about adjusting the eye - try taking a photo in a dressing room in a pant with a long rise. Step back, angle the camera - some people believe In taking an unflattering shot - I do not - I think that’s why I squint my eyes in a mirror, I’m trying to see things through the best lens. It’s not about adding filters, but just seeing yourself in the best way. Let the item live on your phone for a while - go back every now and then and look at the pics - this is what Traci and I do in the design process - often I really grow to love my self in a piece that I rejected initially - and then other times, I think “phew, thank goodness I didn’t go with this - it was all wrong” - and that may be your outcome too, but then again it may not. Now, that said, if you turn out not to like a longer rise, and you don’t like hiking them up higher and belting (trick is to belt now where the belt loops are but below them) - then you may need to decide that longer rises arent your thing - and I hope I always have other options for you! But I would say to keep trying in other materials as they do alter the effect of a piece and you may find a winner.

Some days are very humid, while others are extremely dry. During the dry periods, synthetic fabrics can build up a lot of static electricity, causing garments to cling and lose their intended drape. Do you consider nylon a practical choice for this kind of climate? Is static simply something to accept with nylon, or are there certain nylon fabrications or blends that perform better in dry heat while still maintaining the ease and movement you're always talking about?
