Love these too......would add that for years after Pulp Fiction I was searching for Uma Thurman's pants... iconic with the white shirt and some bare ankle. Finally have a few pair I will always keep. Couldn't help but add American Gigolo for the amazing suits....wasn't even an Armani fan but he was a master. To Catch a Thief....No one like Grace Kelly and that Edith Head wardrobe.
I never could wear a scarf on my head like that.....and my last but not least was Tallulah Bankhead in Lifeboat......wrapped up in the largest fur coat and cigarette alone in that boat.
I am a big Alfred Hitchcock fan if you haven't guessed........ What great films !!!!!
Such an excellent point about St. Elmo’s — the variety of styles, each one specific to their individual taste (and flaws!) It’s one of my all-time fave movies and the David Foster music can bring me to tears.
Great choices - Baby Boom is a fav of the favorites. I’d add French Kiss - Meg Ryan for hair and clothing. Watched that movie countless times. Also loved Carol - Cate Blanchett and Rooney Mara and the overall styling of that movie 🤌
Aww Amy, you hit my movies. That white tuxedo, eye mask, and updo: perfection. Pairs with the Bond Woman (forgive me for forgetting her name) in Dr. No wearing a white men’s dress shirt and black stilettos putting a golf ball across the room. Scrumptious!
If a movie is terrible but the clothes are good (same for interiors) I will still finish it. This drives my husband crazy.
But it’s just the facts!
Ditto!

Thanks for this. I love watching movies for the clothes. These are going on the list.
For me it’s In the Mood for Love! The saturated colors, the skirts, the dresses, the decoltès

Also, ‘Kate&Leopold’ terrible film but Meg Ryan was spot on with the outfits. ‘The Garden of the Finzi Contini’ is another feast for the eyes
Finzi contini had me searching for tennis sweaters for years
Rachel Weisz wardrobe in Brother’s Bloom!
Amazing list! Thanks so much for sharing you thoughts and inspirations.
I too had that jacket… THE BIGGEST SPLURGE. Wish I still did!

Love this list! Feel validated about 9 1/2 weeks LOL. What An Umarried Woman? I watch that movie to remember the real SoHo.
I remember so many of these! I am a bit surprised not one Diane Keaton film/character…
Baby boom!
