Not only packing for varied temperatures, the swings were big from 68 to 100, but also for wildly different moods and activities. Serious business meetings, not so serious ones, photo shoots, a day at the beach, a week of vacation, the opera, Crazy Horse, fabric shows and working on the fall 26 collection, and a book signing.
I’ll break it down, try and be helpful. You’ll be the judge if it is so, but remember it’s all relative and highly personal.
I will break it down. Travel NYC to Bari, Italy via Rome. But wearing Milano MXP airport socks. Why not? Packed a good read, and sweater layers for the plane.
The Plane
The bright blue sweater; the navy cashmere tee, the piped jogger, the shoe that goes with everything, the EXCELLENT read by the even more EXCELLENT Suleika, and the required sock for Milan flying.
Landed. Luggage thrown in to the room, we head out to dinner at Osteria. Chef Giovanni, the father of Francesca and Guiseppi the brains behind the project Casa Caroseno, greets us with a meal that is heaven on earth.
The jet lagged evening:
The lightweight sweatshirt , the easy pleated skirt, Lera Treyger’s comb in leather Pendant, the shoe that goes with everything, vintage pink cardigan Tibi.
Next morning, up and early, headed straight over to the cabinetry workers. I’m nervous, we’re about to ask them to try on some clothing and pose for pics. The father and son are total game for this, ditto at the flour grinders and at the milk/cheese farm. It’s hot as hell, I’m going from sawdust, to flour dust, to hay- three terrains on top of cobblestone.
The first day of shoot:
The capsule collection cotton shirt made from quite literally the worlds finest cotton from Borghi 1819; Malia Mills one piece suit that I love as a top; Jennifer fisher hoops 1.5, my favorite bubble skirt and those shoes again.
2nd day: Farmers market and stone masonry.
This look comes with good sounds, press play.
All the ingredients make for dinner that evening at Casa Caroseno. Guiseppi made us pizzas - and the mini skirt and sweatshirt were just the right balance for heat with temps lowering later in the night. Zoom in on the window for something a little creepy.
The lightweight sweatshirt, the bubble short, and that damn sandal again!
3rd day, Sunday, we rest. Head over to Puglia for beach, clams, and rest before the trip to Milan the next day.
The cotton wrap skirt on sale and one size 14 left for the lucky winner, an old Stella McCartney bikini with robots on it that you can find at Poshmark; the clear bag - I didn’t do the totally clear for production because it was super stiff and almost bruises you - the production is much better - especially if u see my stupid black marks on my hip, the sexy tank that makes a wrap skirt more, the striped shirt here, and the sandal with fishing line detail and adjustable back, the best.
Monday morning: Fly Bari to Milan.
I don’t usually fly in shorts, but these are a bit longer than a short short and it was 1 1/2 hour flight. All good.
The tee is the sold out TCL tee, new one coming in about a month. The crispy nylon blazer that made an appearance here but was the grand savior for the remainder of the trip, those sandals again, and the cargo shorts that came in black last year but honestly are a dream in this light mint.
The photo booklet of days Thursday-Sunday:
More to come. I’m boarding my flight home tomorrow, maybe I’ll be able to crank out one last post. It’s late, my alarm is set for 5am. Xoxo, Amy.
Love everything as always. Your stying is impeccable.
It’s so much fun to see what you’ve packed and worn!! Thanks for taking the time to put links and pics with the story!! 😘
