This sporty nylon skirt. 12 ways. Dialed up, down, and altered. Depending on my where and why.
If I was going to a meeting I’d pin up the longest ribbon so it doesn’t confuse my head where I’m going. I’d go for ring 1+2’s from the Tibi colorwheel. I’d throw on brogues to double down on the meeting vibe, I’d tie a sweater at my waist to give ease, and my white tee would be iron pressed because when I wear tees I always want them to be sharp - tees are already casual by nature so the hard press balances them out.
If I was going to a fancy dinner I’d mix it with a tuxedo blazer, I’d wrap the blazer and secure it with a pin since the skirt already has length and movement I’m tempted to make my top half closer to the body. I’m mixing in a fancy bag too.
If I was going to London fashion week. It’s fashion - the skirt is perfect for running around all day functional but a hard bent on creative - it’s sporty nylon so nothing is precious here. It’s rainy all the time, my boot, and coat is just so practical. I’m dry.
If I was meeting friends for lunch. And I feel like dressing up a bit, but then pulling back at the same time. So a sweatshirt that’s super polished and designed but just so damn casual at the same time, paired with the skirt and the Chanel ballet flat is perfect for someone who does not do Chanel. Note: no offense to Chanel, it’s just not my thing. And if it’s your thing, that’s great. For you.
If I was in Rome. Or at Hotel du Cap. It’s sporty nylon all that chill balances out a flamingo bathing suit - there’s no way I would wear this skirt if it was silk, too fussy, too much. I folded over the longest flap and pinned it so you can see what I would do to make it more casual - but I’d do a black pin - but I didn’t have one at home, so there you have it.
If I’m just moving through life wanting to feel effortless and chill, but still modern and a bit classic. And this checks out, since those are my adjectives then that means this would figure heavily in to my rotation.
If I’m on vacation, I’m getting use out of everything in my bag, and I’m going to the farmer’s market in Nice and I’m about to fill my bag with cheese, wine and morels. And just the LLBean Tibi tote and a clean tank works.
If I’m in Austin, Texas, packing light, and want a skirt for New Year’s Eve but I also want it to work for when we go two-stepping the nigh before.
If the corporate office party is that night, but I’m not wanting to look all “am I trying to seduce the CEO - or more likely, I’m the CEO and not trying to seduce you….”
BUT»»» All the same at the party, I’m going to ditch the jacket and have a bit more skin on display, but not so much that Leslie in HR has me called in the morning after.
If I love wearing black, but a mixture of a ring 3 icky color and a cow pony loafer gives the moment an entirely different vibe.
If I were on vacation in December in Key West. I’d throw on my old sporty nylon hoodie and fancy scuba shoes and be dressed - but at home at Sloppy Joes.
So you see, I mixed my skirt with all the old pieces in my closet, other items I’ve collected over time, and things that may seem fully outside of my style but somehow all feel so very much like me.

Beyond the brilliant styling of this skirt - a real work horse for us all! - your humor is on point as always!
I love all the mixing in with old and new! I have a new style “rule” (nothing is ever a rule): something I’m wearing should be at least a few years old. Makes it mine!
