A December curation for The Creative Pragmatist Radio #015.
When we started this music project - monthly playlists of hand selected songs that encapsulate the feeling of the present moment, and what we at Tibi are listening to right now - there was little thought of where we would be in a year, let alone six months. It was simply another inspiring, creative outlet for us to conceptualize the brand through an ulterior medium and form of expression.
Since October 2024, we have released one playlist per month, every month, each consisting of roughly two to three hours of unique and special music. That’s 470 songs. 1,981 minutes. 33+ hours in total. Each playlist takes about three weeks to curate, and when observing the numbers at a macro level, it is wild to think that we haven’t even scratched the surface as to what is out there in the music ether. Everyday we find incredible artists and songs, some new and many old. These discoveries fuel our creativity and our minds. They inspire collections, influence the creative direction of campaigns, and energize the mind to write, design, and conceptualize new concepts and endeavors. Music, in many ways, is representative of the heart beat of life, allowing us to keep our finger on the pulse of culture, from back then and right now.
During a month largely characterized by classic holiday jingles, we wanted to provide an apt respite from the, at times, redundant theme songs of the season like Maria Carey’s All I Want For Christmas Is You, and every Michael Bublé song ever (no shade to the Bungalow-B members). This playlist is fresh, and diverse, with tracks like Lately, by Celeste and SAULT’s Up All Night from their album 5. However, we would be deeply remiss to not include some anthems of the season, and we did, just not the ones you’ll be hearing on Spotify’s top 50 songs of Christmas. For your holiday fix, we direct your attention instead to tracks like Christmas Rappin’ by the great Kurtis Blow, and Happy Christmas by Toots & The Maytals.
All tracks on CP Radio 015 are fit for a cozy evening by a warm fire, or a sunny, palm tree swaying kind of morning, which is the beauty and intention behind the song selection of this monthly music project. Whether you celebrate Hanukkah or Kwanzaa, live in Boston or Bali, the playlist works, and works well - toeing the line between creativity and pragmatism, this is a radio that strikes the sweet spot in the middle. Happy Holidays, we hope you enjoy.

Thank you for the great playlist! But can I suggest you use a different service, since Spotify doesn’t even pay 80% of the artists on its platform?
My favorite CP Radio playlist yet. Thanks for putting these together!
