Q: “Is the Stretch Linen Viscose Side Cut Blazer versatile? Can it be worn year-round?”

A: Yes. This jacket was originally part of my Spring 2018 Runway collection (and reprised in Spring 2022). At the time I remember clients had a hard time getting their head around it. This was before I had social media and could explain my rationale—the versatility and the ease to something that was quite modern. The blazer has stayed with me in my closet all these years—I always pulled it out when I had an event that called for a moment, but not too outlandish; an office day where my creativity needed to lead first, or when I had that simple dress or that wide pleated pant that got a lift with the blazer worn with a belt woven through the openings. I also found that there was enough linen to give a bit of texture—enough for good friction when worn with something flat like silk or tropical wool, but not so much that it overtakes the look. And most importantly, it gives depth to the color without stigmatizing it to a season. The fabrication is quite sturdy—and it doesn’t wrinkle—it has none of the tropes associated with linen when it is blended with viscose. That’s why it feels at home with a grey cashmere sweater in late October and over a white slip dress in June. - Amy

Q: “The ugly/garish print is a trend right now, will we love the Summer print when the moment passes?”

A: When I wrote The Creative Pragmatist, 2nd Edition, I spent time codifying when a style, print, or color caught my eye, and most importantly—when did I actually wear the piece? Not necessarily a ton—but when did it occupy a permanent home in my closet—pulled out every year and worn. Some pieces I have from Balenciaga, Prada, or Stella McCartney I’ve had for over two decades—they’re not worn monthly, but when I am in the mood for something extra, they’re what I go to. And then there are other pieces I bought, only to never wear. Ever. Somehow, when I put them on, they just never felt right. I discovered the reason: when a print of color is in something icky, glossy, or sculptural (the IGS), it held my interest, elevated it above anything too basic or common. It’s why a printed silk blouse always just felt too mature, no matter how great the print. But if Christopher Kane printed on scuba fabric and cut it into a pencil skirt, I was all in. So I can’t wait to wear that slightly off-putting print (I based it on Holiday Inn bedspreads from the 1970s). I’ll wear the skirt with a lightweight sweatshirt, the short skort with a big white crisp button-down. And I’ll wear it again next year, and the year after. Because it’s got the Good Ick. Go back in your closet and do this analysis—promise, if you share my same mindset here, you’ll come to this same conclusion. - Amy

Q: Can the Silk Gazar Jacquard Pencil Skirt be worn casual, and is it super slim?”

A: Quickly yes. But the reasons aren’t obvious, so let me explain. When I selected the fabric for this line, I was drawn to the idea of some type of print that was there, but not—what I call a “no-print-print”. However—I wanted texture—I needed something that would hold a strong shape, make me feel in a summer mood, but not bohemian. This rich Italian jacquard does all of that with a bit of sheerness that makes it perfect for summer. That’s the challenge many people have, finding items that are chill enough, but not bohemian, modern enough but still wearable, and classic enough but never conforming. This skirt hits all the notes—I love it with the summer Ribbed Racerback tank—it gives a bit of sexiness to the skirt but decidedly chill all the same. I also love it with a loose-fitting big sweater or even a crisp white button-down with the sleeves pushed up. Regarding the sizing—this is where you can really zoom in on the fit on the model. You know I love things oversized, but I also love pieces that are quite tailored to the body. This one sits closer to the body—across the bum and high hips—and it’s designed to sit below the belly button. For example, if you’ve been buying more oversized styles and sizing down in them (like if you’re “normally” an 8 but you buy a 6 in our Stella pant) then you need to buy your “normal” size. Remember, Tibi doesn’t “fit oversized”. We create many pieces that are engineered to be oversized and you can choose to wear them in that way—or not. But we also have many pieces in our line that are not oversized. Why? Because we’re human and I love dimension in my wardrobe so why would I create anything other? - Amy

Q: “Can the Crinkle Stripe Suiting Shawl Collar Jacket be worn as a shirt? Open?”

A: Yes! This can be worn open and as a shirt. Styled with a featherweight ribbed tank, you can wear this as a jacket on a cool evening or at dinner. I like this styled out or tucked into the coordinating pant to give off a one-and-done jumpsuit look. Don’t forget you can unbutton and roll the sleeves. This has a button placket similar to a button-down shirt, so you have options. - Keturah

Q: “Can the Crinkle Stripe Suiting be worn to the office in the summer?

A: I really feel best when I nail the right clothes for the right moment. On a beach, a summer dinner, an outside event this total look is heaven. But in an office, I feel a little “I wish I was anywhere but here” looking. Broken up as separates, absolutely. The jacket with a jean and a pump or with a big belted khaki trouser, yes. The pant rolled up with a loafer and a black crewneck, or a white button-down and black blazer over my shoulder—that feels right by the watercolor on the executive floor. This feels exactly right. - Amy

Q: “How good is the Eco Poplin Strappy Open Back Top for curvy girls or those with fuller chests?”

A (KD): This is an amazingly (and surprisingly, to some) versatile piece. Styled with jeans or our Summer Nylon balloon pant, it feels like a modern peplum—fitted at the bust, and slightly flared at the waist. Our stylists, Fana (size 14) and Darianne (size 12) wear this often and have sized according to their bust measurement. Adjustable straps sit horizontally and at the shoulders, allowing you to loosen or tighten to your liking. This is by far the most asked about & tried-on piece from our Summer 2026 styling appointments. A (AS): I’m chiming in here—when we did the style house in Los Angeles and London, I wrote to Traci to say I was floored by the range of body types that looked and felt incredible in this top. When a style has a higher neckline and an open back, you design it knowing that it will work for some, but not all, and above all the incredibly brave. But this top didn’t have these limitations—Traci told me they spent so much time fitting this on a range of people, working on the seaming, and giving lots of options on strap adjustments. Q: “Is the Arnie Sandal true to size? How are clients styling this? I’m trying to decide between two colors…”

A: Yes, it’s TTS (true to size) if you have a foot that is average in every way. This means not too wide, not too narrow. For me, I prefer long-term comfort to walk about a town or a beach when I’m vacationing, so I usually go up 1/2 size in flip flops or slides. This is a style that my clients have been buying multiple colors of—one pair in a more neutral tone (Black or Dark Brown), and one pair in a Ring 4 bright color (Red, Orange, or Green). Having the option to wear as a dressier open-toed sandal in a neutral color and also having the option to bring in the Good Ick in one of the Ring 4 brights is key. I totally wish these came in a pack of three because it’s so hard to choose. My favorite so far for my skin tone and personal closet needs are the Dark Brown and Green.

Q: “What skirt fits the most like the Summer Nylon Flat Front Jalousie Skirt so I can try and gauge my correct size?”

A: Ahh, good question. The closest I think is the nylon balloon skirt. For reference, though, the Jalousie Skirt has a fixed waistband that sits higher on the waist, more like a tailored skirt would and should. Think right at the belly button. Because the size chart is so helpful, you can totally choose where you want this to sit. Want it to sit lower, more relaxed? Measure that spot and find it under the Waist Measurement section on the size chart. This chart houses the garment measurements. You just have to fit your own specs into it with the understanding that our intended fit is reflected in the size chart. - Keturah

Q: “Honest question—how do your feet not slip around in the Ulrich slingbacks when you wear them with socks?”

A: Here are a few things we do. Ok, for a runway show we’ll put double-stick tape on the actual foot bed. The problem is that gums up the shoe—and ruins it for wearing with a bare foot, so not the best option for long term. My favorite is putting down the Dr. Scholl’s silicone pad right under the front ball of the foot—that works great, and is comfy, too. - Amy

Q: “Is the brown Leather Zip Up Hoodie Jacket the same weight as the pebbled black leather jacket from last Fall?”

A: Same shape, definitely lighter. Think outerwear bomber vs medium-weight spring anorak vibes. It feels more “supple” - a word that makes me cringe but it seems right. - Amy

Q: “Can a curvy person REALLY wear that hoop pencil skirt? Or is this style just not for me?”

A: Yes! Have you seen Darianne @darianne.tibi or Stella on Style Class (Season 7, Episodes 10 & 13)? It fits higher on the waist closer to the belly button. Check the size chart against your own high waist specs. - Keturah

Q: “What’s so luxe about the fabrics from Spring versus any other collection?”

A: Hmm, I don’t think it’s extra luxe vis-à-vis any other Tibi collection. So, let me just explain what luxe means. We use the best mills in Europe—Sordevolo, Tessibilia, Dinamo—these mills produce for Hermes, Gucci, Balenciaga. We love beautiful fabrics and because we’re independent, because I report to myself, we’re able to make this possible. We don’t do massive ad campaigns or insane runway shows, we also don’t work with big department stores that have drained many companies - what that means is, we can put our funds in the right place - the materials and the make. Traci and I spend a lot of time thinking about how we want to feel in our clothes—the fabrics are super important. Always have been. - Amy

Q: “I can’t figure out my sizing, I feel like the clothing doesn’t sit right on me. I’ve been sizing down because I don’t want my clothes to feel TOO big. And when I purchase fitted items, I tend to size up. Am I choosing the wrong size?”

A: Ahh, I know that can be frustrating. Here’s a helpful thing to know—if an item looks loose on one model (let’s say the oversized Liam Blazer) and other items look more fitted (the Compact Stretch Knit Pencil Skirt for example) it’s because we don’t offer all things oversized, or all things slim. We create designs that we want to wear the way we want to wear them. We’re not locked in to presenting only one type of fit. So, if it’s oversized on a model, it will be oversized on you if you order your size—we don’t put larger pieces on a model to effect ease. The relaxed vibe is meticulously built into our style. If we show an item that’s fitted on the model, it will be fitted on you. If we show an item that’s fitted on a model, it will be fitted on you. Look at the Tibi size chart—see where your sizing matches up. For example, I’m just 5’5”, 120 lbs, I have 38” hips, 34” bust, and 27” waist—I wear a 4, a Small, or a 27 in Tibi across the board. Now, it’s a free country—if you don’t want something oversized, you can always try sizing down. Conversely, if you want something looser, size up. We’re all good here. - Amy
